  1. An Heirloom to Last a Lifetime

Debra McClure began her sewing passion in 1967 with a home economics class. She is member of the Susan B. Allen Sewing Saints, established in 1974. This group’s goal is to make the lives better for the patients at SBA. The Sewing Saints create stuffed animals and dolls for the children who visit SBA, Chemo Caps for our Cancer Center patients, Baby Mittens and Bonnets for newborns and are working on prototypes for Chemo Gowns and Activity Mats for our surgical patients. This quilt is affectionately referred to as “Gateway to Paradise”. She selected the bright colors to remind you of stained glass windows in a place of worship. This quilt took approximately five months to complete. It measures 83”x96” and will fit a queen size bed with some drop on the sides. The fabric is 100% cotton with cotton batting inside. SBA’s COO, Mark Rooker, designed and built a custom quilt ladder for the display of your quilt. Enjoy the wonderful artistry on this labor of love for many years to come.

22. The F.S. Allen Challenge

Many of our community’s greatest achievements have been made possible through philanthropy, including the establishment of SBA in 1931, when F.S. Allen donated $100,000 for a modern hospital to be built in El Dorado in honor of his mother. This year, we want you to be able to honor or remember someone important to you – someone living or someone who has passed. Because of you and many of those who are no longer with us we have been able to continue elevating the quality of care we offer our community. We look forward to honoring you and those you choose to honor or remember with special signage at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
On your tables, you will see a card that states – In Memory Of or In Honor Of. Please leave the name you wish to honor or memorialize with us at check out. Each donation is 100% tax deductible.
